Hello, Lovelies!
The sun is high, it's acceptable to walk barefoot
all day, iced tea is more delicious than ever, and everyone is happy.
It's summer! That means it's time to lay in the sun, spend time
with friends, and of course, travel!
I myself am going on a big trip, and I
am so excited! But the one thing that has been stressing me out is the
thoughtful process of packing. I know this doesn't sound like a reason to
stress, right? There are so many other things to worry about: catching your
flight, keeping track of luggage, making sure you have enough money, etc. But,
nonetheless, I am a girl, and clothes are a very important
thing.
I decided I must not be the only person worried
about packing. There has to be at least one other person stressed about making
sure they have enough pairs of shoes and underwear. So, if that happens to be
you, I am here to help! I have formulated a minimalist list of things
to pack for a week long trip in the summer. Hopefully this list will help you
(and me!) remember what is necessary to pack and what could be left in your
closet. (Even if it's hard to leave it behind...because let's face
it...we need options!)
. 7 pairs of underwear
. 2-3 bras (don't forget a sports bra if you plan on exercising)
. 3-4 pairs of socks
. 2 pairs of exercise/hangout shorts
. 3-4 exercise/hangout tshirts
. 4-5 shirts
. 3-4 pairs of shorts
. 1 pair of jeans
. 1-2 skirt/s
. 2-3 dresses (make sure you pack a couple...one for dinner, one that's light for shopping, etc)
. 2 swim suits
. 1 cardigan
. 1 rain jacket
. 1 pair of tennis/running shoes
. 3-4 pairs of shoes (flats, flip-flops/sandals, heels, etc)
. accessories (necklaces, earrings, sunglasses, etc)
. 1-2 purse/s (I would pack one medium sized one and one that is small, cross-body for sightseeing/shopping)
. toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, deodorant, makeup, tweezers, nail clippers)
. extras (hair dryer, flat iron/curling iron, sunscreen, any medication you might take)
If you are planning on going on a trip for longer than a week, I would suggest doubling everything listed. For example, 8-10 shirts, 14 pairs of underwear, etc.
I hope this helps all of you prepare for your next big adventure!
xoxo,
Kayla
