24 Hours of Horror

     Hello Lovelies!
This weekend Morgan and I did absolutely nothing. We literally sat on the couch, ate food, and slept for about 24 hours. Though that may sound extremely lazy and lethargic, it was actually very enjoyable. I can't tell you the last time I just did nothing. It was satisfying.
The two of us didn't just sit on the couch whilst eating Oreo pie and a bag of Doritos. We decided to watch a movie. But not just a movie. A scary movie. The two of us decided to put Netflix to use, and after scrolling through about two dozen mediocre, two star rated horror flicks we found one. And it was so good, that after it was over we decided to watch another. And another. And another. And another. Yes, we ended up watching five horror movies in one day.
Now I am not at all a horror movie connoisseur, but I thought I would share my thoughts on the five movies I watched in the last 24 hours.

1. The Awakening
This was by far one of the best horror films I have seen. Not only did it make Morgan and me practically sit on top of each other out of fear, but it had a great story. The historic setting, old and gloomy England, made it even better. It was more than a  gory massacre movie. It was a creepy yet enticing mystery with an extremely unexpected twist.
5 STARS

2. A Haunting at Silver Falls
This film was definitely the most scary visually. The protagonist is being followed by the spirits of murdered twins. Even though they are spirits there are clearly seen as if actual characters. And I have to say, their visual presence was frightening.
Though this movie was scary to watch, the plot wasn't as sophisticated as I would have hoped.
3 STARS

3. Silent House
This movie was driven by suspense. The whole movie was filmed as if in one take which made the suspense without pause and never ending, and the acting was amazing. Elizabeth Olson was perfect in her role. What I didn't like, however, was the plot. The only thing that made this scary was the suspense. I would definitely call this movie a suspense film...I was stressed out the whole time I was watching it.
3 STARS

4. Medium Raw
This movie wasn't the scariest that I saw, but it had a good story. The thought of the plot becoming reality is a scary one; being locked in an asylum with its patients on the loose. This movie was scary, but the added humor would sometimes detract from the horror. But the acting, plot, and humor combined made a pretty good movie. Plus the main characters name is Johnny. And I like that.
4 STARS

5. Friday the 13th (Original 1980)
I love '80s movies. So when Morgan and I realized we hadn't seen the original Friday the 13th, we figured we should probably watch it.
The idea of a mass murderer is scary enough. Next, you add a children's camp. Then you add a group of unsuspecting teenagers. That's just not a good combination. But it makes for an interesting movie. Other than people just randomly getting speared with arrows, stabbed through the back, or axed in the face the only interesting part was the last chase scene. And even then I was yelling at the last girl on the screen to stop making stupid decisions. Even though it wasn't the best movie, I still liked it. Mainly because it was made in the '80s. And it taught me to never go to camp.
3 STARS

So the next time you happen to have a Saturday with nothing to do, turn on your TV, grab some snacks, and watch some horror movies. It proved to be a great pastime. :) Comment below with some of your favorite scary movies. I would love some recommendations!

Fashion Friday: Dresses + Converse

Hello, Lovelies!
For this week's post, I thought I'd do more of a look piece. This week: Dresses and Converse. I really like this look as its a good way to dress down a dress with I have to say my favorite shoes since about 7th grade. Chuck Taylors never, I repeat never go out of style and I even own 3 pairs of them. Pair your favorite dress with a comfy pair of white or navy converse and you've got a perfectly stylish outfit ready for anything. I really like this look and have previously worn something similar to this. Let me know below if you've worn something like this or like the look!

Film Favorites: Chick Flicks

Hello, Lovelies!
Hope you are all doing well on the second day of October! To start us off on one of my favorite months, I thought I would talk about a glorious universal love of women: Chick Flicks. Now, we all have our preferences, ie. RomCom, Romance, Drama, etc. However, most of these teary-happy-endings-they-all-lived-happily-ever-after movies are beloved by all of the female species (and some male too!). However, this is not to say I don't enjoy "guy" movies too. I can honestly say I can watch The Notebook or The Dark Knight and I will be equally as happy, well, depending on my mood. ;) But, anyways, I thought I'd share some of my favorite Chick Flicks. Enjoy! p.s. Comment down below and tell us what your favorite chick flicks are!
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants

Sweet Home Alabama
